Intraframe Scene Capturing and Speed Measurement Based on Superimposed Image: New Sensor Concept for Vehicle Speed Measurement

A vision based vehicle speed measurement method is presented in this paper. The proposed intraframe method calculates speed estimates based on a single frame of a single camera. With a special double exposure, a superimposed image can be obtained, where motion blur appears significantly only in the bright regions of the otherwise sharp image. This motion blur contains information of the movement of bright objects during the exposure. Most papers in the field of motion blur are aiming at the removal of this image degradation effect. In this work, we utilize it for a novel speed measurement approach. An applicable sensor structure and exposure-control system are also shown, as well as the applied image processing methods and experimental results. © 2016 Mate Nemeth and Akos Zarandy

Changes in tax structures in European Union Member States

The European Union does not have a comprehensive common tax policy and substantial changes in this specialized policy area are not likely in the foreseeable future. Albeit common rules, requirements, minimum rates for certain tax types were implemented in the last few decades, they barely limit the Member States in using their tax policies as one of the worthiest elements of their arsenal in increasing competitiveness or quite the contrary, to undermining their own international competitiveness inadvertently through a misguided tax policy. In this article, we put the tax policies of the Visegrad Group and the Eurozone core countries (Germany, Austria and the Netherlands), as well as changes in these policies under the magnifying glass, in terms of the impact of tax structure changes on economic growth and employment in the last decade

Koromkibocsátás vizsgálata pirolízisolaj-diesel tüzelőanyagkeverék alkalmazásánál: Investigation of soot emissions using pyrolysis oil-diesel fuel mixture

In modern days the waste generation of the modern society took such a large extent, that other than its environment harming aspects, it also endagers humanitiy’s sustainable development. Due to the motorisation and the increasing number of vehicles, the amount of used car tires is drastically increasing year by year. An estimated 1.5 trillion waste car tyres are generated annualy, which will be doubled in the following 30 years. One of the recycling methods of waste tires is pyrolysis, during which pyrolysis oil is produced. The components of said diesel fuel is different from the commercically avalible diesel fuel and the following research’s goal is to investigate the effects of pyrolysis diesel on the combustion, if we mix it in smaller volume percentages with regular diesel fuel. Kivonat A hulladéktermelés napjainkra a modern fogyasztói társadalom hatására olyan méreteket kezd ölteni, ami környezetkárosító hatása mellett veszélyezteti az emberiség fenntartható fejlődését. A motorizáció, a gépjárművek évről évre emelkedő száma miatt az elhasznált gumiabroncsok száma is drasztikusan emelkedik napjainkra körülbelül 1,5 billió elhasznált gumiabroncs keletkezik évente, ami a következő 30 évben előreláthatólag meg fog duplázódni [1]. A gumiabroncsok újra hasznosításának egyik módja a pirolizációs eljárás, amely során pirolízis olaj keletkezik [2]. ASR-hibaterjedés vizsgálata a gépi beszédértés szemszögéből

Napjainkban a mesterséges intelligencia alapú megoldások egyre inkább a beszélt nyelv gépi megértésére törekednek. Ennek preferált megközelítése az, amikor automatikus beszédfelismerő (ASR) rendszerek használatával átiratokat hozunk létre, amelyek további, szövegalapú elemzésen mennek keresztül. A gépi átiratok szóhibákat is tartalmazhatnak; ezen hibák továbbterjednek a szöveges feldolgozási folyamatba, így a gépi központozásba, kivonatolásba is. Ugyanakkor szubjektív tesztjeink azt igazolták, hogy az emberek a gépi átiratokat a szóhibák és a központozási hibák ellenére is jól tudják értelmezni. Célunk az, hogy bemutassuk az ASR-hibaterjedésből adódó, szemantikai térben bekövetkező információveszteségeket, valamint az ASR-hibaterjedés automatikus összefoglalásra gyakorolt hatását is elemezzük. Bemutatjuk, hogy az egyes mondatreprezentációk a szóhibák hatására enyhén eltolódnak a szemantikai térben, de ez jócskán elmarad a dokumentum mondatainak átlagos szemantikai távolságától. Megmutatjuk azt is, hogy a központozás hibáinak nagyobb hatása van az összefoglalók kiértékelésére, mint a szóhibáknak, ami arra enged következtetni, hogy a feladathoz elengedhetetlen a megfelelő mondatszintű tokenizálás

Shock-induced alterations in the recently found H chondrite Csátalja meteorite and its implications

Shock-driven annealing of pyroxene and shock deformation of olivine were analyzed in a recently found H chondrite called Csátalja. The most characteristic infrared (IR) spectral shape of shock-annealed sub-grained pyroxene was identified: the strongest peak occurs at 860 cm−1 with a smaller shoulder at 837−840 cm−1, and small bands are at 686, 635−638, and 1,044−1,050 cm−1. The appearance of forbidden bands in pyroxene and shift of band positions to a lower wave number in olivines clearly demonstrate the crystal lattice disordering due to shock metamorphism. The shock annealing produced mixed dark melt along fractures, which consists of feldspar−pyroxene and olivine−pyroxene melt. The dark shock melt at sub-grain boundaries of shocked pyroxenes and along fracture of pyroxenes is characterized by elevated Ca, Na, and Al content relative to its environment, detected by element mapping. So far, shock deformation of pyroxene and olivine was not studied by IR spectroscopy; this method has turned out to be a powerful tool in identifying the mixed composition of shock melt minerals. Further study of shock annealing of minerals, together with the context of shock melting at sub-grain boundaries, will provide a better understanding of the formation of high P–T minerals

Towards abstractive summarization in Hungarian

We publish an abstractive summarizer for Hungarian, an encoder-decoder model initialized with huBERT, and fine-tuned on the ELTE.DH corpus of former Hungarian news portals. The model produces fluent output in the correct topic, but it hallucinates frequently. Our quantitative evaluation on automatic and human transcripts of news (with automatic and human-made punctuation) shows that the model is robust with respect to errors in either automatic speech recognition or automatic punctuation restoration
